DUSHANBE, April 7, 2016, Asia-Plus /Avaz Yuldoshev/ -- Germany will award a €54.4 grant to Tajikistan within the next two years, Tajik Minister of Economic Development and Trade Nematullo Hikmatullozoda announced at a session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) on April 6.
According to him, the grant will be spent to support enhancement of the country’s social sector. “The grant will be used to enhance the health sector, develop regions, support development of the private sector, and develop affordable housing in the country,” the minister said.
“This amount will be provided during 2016-2017 in the framework of a government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Germany on financial and technical cooperation that was signed in Dushanbe on February 11 this year,” Hikmatullozoda noted.
