DUSHANBE, April 27, 2016, Asia-Plus – The Government of Tajikistan has issued a resolution under which all public associations must notify the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) about the received grants and other aid within a ten-day period.

Under the government’s resolution on the procedure of creation of the Registry on Humanitarian Aid for public associations that was issued in late March this year, the government, in the framework of the law on public associations, lays down rules of creation and introduction of the registry of public associations founded with participation of foreign countries, foreign legal entities, international organizations and international public movements, as well as due to donations, optional contributions or property received from physical and legal entities for purpose of exercising control over observance by them of Tajikistan’s legislation.

The registry is created and introduced by the Ministry of Justice and public associations must notify it and provide all information about them within a ten-day period.

We will recall that new amendments to the Law on Public Associations (PAs) were adopted by Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament in June 2015 and signed by the president on August 8, 2015.  The new amendments require PAs to notify the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) about the grants and other aid received from foreign sources, which also must be included in the Special Registry on Humanitarian Aid.
