DUSHANBE, July 19, 2016, Asia-Plus – Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (CES) under the Government of Tajikistan has sacked heads of a number of regional emergency management agencies and reprimanded some emergencies officials.
A meeting of the CES board, preside over by CES chief Rustam Nazarzoda, took place on July 18 to review the results of the work carried out in the first half of 2016.
Speaking at the meeting, Nazarzoda reportedly pointed out shortcomings and defects in civil defense activities and shortcomings existing in the CES military units.
Nazarzoda ordered to develop a new early warning system and the concept of training and retraining of personnel in the shortest possible time.
Heads of emergency management agencies in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) and Rasht region, heads of a number of district emergency management agencies, and heads of the CES finance, personnel and operational management departments were sacked and a number of emergencies officials were reprimanded.
The CES board also made a decision to carry out the rotation among the CES senior officials.
