The Government of Tajikistan is expected to review the results of the past year’s work and discuss tasks set for this year this month.
“President Emomali Rahmon will held a meeting to review the results of the past year’s work on December 22,” an official source in the Tajik government told Asia-Plus Wednesday afternoon.
In the previous years, a government session to review the results of the past year’s work was being held in mid-January.
Usually, President Emomali Rahmon introduces a number of staff changes at this meeting.
Meanwhile, the president will address a joint meeting of both chambers of the parliament on December 22 as well.
Usually, in an address to the parliament, the president discusses the country’s priorities in domestic politics and foreign policy as well as the main economic challenges.
In his previous address to the parliament (January 23, 2015), President Rahmon paid a special attention to problems of development of Tajikistan’s economy under conditions of global economic and financial crisis, as well as the fight against international terrorism and extremism.
In 2014 and 2015, President Rahmon addressed the parliament in January but not in April as he had done before.
According to some sources, the address was brought forward in connection with the fact that 2014 a financial year has started on January 1 and not April 1 as it was before.
