President Emomali Rahmon held a meeting on March 31 to discuss preparations to ensure the regular work of the country's economy during autumn-winter 2017-2018, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
The Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Nematullo Hikmatullozoda, reported on preparations for the winter.
Emomali Rahmon reportedly introduced a number of staff changes at the meeting. Major-General Mahmadsaid Saidzoda, formerly head of the Interior Ministry Traffic Police Department, was appointed Deputy Interior Minister.
He replaced Major-General Iskandar Solehzoda, who was appointed to head the Interior Ministry’s office in Khatlon province at the beginning of this year.
The meeting also discussed and endorsed draft amendments proposed to a number of the country’s laws.
