"This great event has become a turning point in the more than six thousand-year history of the Tajik people, thanks to which we have gained a sovereign state," President Emomali Rahmon said in a congratulatory message to the people of Tajikistan on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the independence of the republic.

"The path we have traveled for more than three decades is full of ups and downs, the glorious people of Tajikistan were able to selflessly defend their State independence from the instigations and provocations of internal and external detractors of the Tajik nation and the Tajik state, put an end to the imposed civil war, restore peace, stability and national unity in the country," it is said in congratulation speech.

That is, the Tajiks, as an ancient nation, were able to overcome the obstacles and difficulties created by their enemies with determination, unite in very difficult and fateful days under the banner of independence and freedom, lead their state to peaceful and prosperous days."

It also notes that "in the process of liberating the Tajik state from the threat of extinction and saving the Tajik nation from disintegration, one of the most important pillars of statehood, the National Army, was created in 1993, and the activities of paralyzed state power structures and law enforcement agencies were restored."

"The adoption of the first Constitution of the independent Tajik state was one of the first achievements. On its basis, the Government of the country began to promote social policy. Today, the real results of this policy are clearly observed in all social spheres," the message says.

Our people were able to realize their best national values, raise national self-awareness and self-knowledge, not only revive their unique culture, but also bring it into line with the requirements of their new statehood, the realities of the modern world and present it worthily on the international arena."

In the congratulation speech it is also said about achievements in agriculture, industry, energy, construction, as well as the country's position in the international arena, the fight against various kinds of challenges, and patriotism.

"I firmly believe in the national honor and dignity, determination and patriotic efforts of the glorious people of Tajikistan and, in particular, its patriotic youth. I declare with confidence that together we will strengthen and multiply our rich country in the near future more than today, make our independent state more progressive, and further raise its authority in the international arena," says the congratulation speech.
