The revenue part of Tajikistan’s state budget for the first 11 months of 2025 amounted to 50 billion somoni (5.4 billion USD), President Emomali Rahmon announced in his annual address to the parliament on December 16.

According to the president, this represents a 65% increase, or 20 billion somoni more, compared to the same period in 2020.

Rahmon instructed the relevant government bodies to improve the country's financial system and ensure effective management of state resources in the face of global financial and economic instability.

Additionally, the president noted that the revenue part of the state budget for 2025 has been approved at 49.6 billion somoni. This is a 15.4% increase, or 6.6 billion somoni, compared to 2024.

Budget deficit and plans for 2026

Rahmon also announced that the expenditure part of the budget for 2025 has been approved at 51.6 billion somoni, which is an increase of 7.5 billion somoni compared to this year's budget. As a result, the 2025 budget has been adopted with a deficit of 2 billion somoni.

Looking ahead to 2026, the president stated that the revenue part of the state budget is projected to exceed 65 billion somoni (about 7 billion USD), which is a 31% increase compared to the current year's budget revenue.

The total expenditure for the 2026 budget is set at around 67 billion somoni (7.2 billion USD). The maximum budget deficit for 2026 is proposed to be set at 1% of GDP, equivalent to about 2 billion somoni.
