DUSHANBE, March 14, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The ongoing anti-drug operation, dubbed Morphine, has led to the seizure of nearly 2 kilograms of cannabis in Khatlon province.
The source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) says a suspicious car Opel-Astra belonging to K.Ch. was stopped on the Dushanbe-Norak-Danghara highway on March 13. A package containing narcotic drug that tested positive to cannabis weighing 1.82 kilograms was found hidden in the car’s trunk.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against K.Ch. and an investigation is under way. The Morphine anti-drug operation is carried out in Tajikistan every year, the source added.
