DUSHANBE, March 16, 2011, Asia-Plus -- A large amount of narcotics was incinerated in a special furnace of Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) in Dushanbe on March 16.
According to the DCA press service, 176.5 kilograms of narcotics, including 31 kilograms of heroin, some 18 kilograms of raw opium and some 128 kilograms of cannabis, were destroyed. Narcotics were confiscated in the course of 2010-2011.
Narcotics were incinerated in the presence of the Security Council deputy secretaries from member nations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), members of the CSTO Working Group on Afghanistan as well as representatives of Tajik law enforcement agencies and media, the source said.
