DUSHANBE, May 5, 2011, Asia-Plus -- An operation by officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA) led to the arrest of drug pusher in Dushanbe on May 4, the DCA news center reports.
“A 46-year-old citizen of Tajikistan was detained last Wednesday on suspicion of having been involved in drug pushing,” said the source, “When searching his Musso, the drug control officers found several packages containing narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish weighing more than 10 kilograms.”
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug pusher under the provisions of Article 200 (4) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – large-scale drug trafficking; an investigation is under way.
Over the first four months of this year, officers from the counternarcotics agency have reportedly seized more than 404 kilograms of narcotics, which is 2.2 times more than in the same period last.
