DUSHANBE, May 19, 2011, Asia-Plus -- More than 500 recruits that have been conscripted to serve in border troops took the oath today.
Khoushnoud Rahmatulloyev, a spokesman for the Border Guard Directorate at the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), says the boarder troops commander Sheralisho Mirzo, recruits’ parents and representatives of the public attended the oath-taking ceremony.
“The recruits will take three-month courses and then they will be sent to border units along Tajikistan’s national border,” the spokesman said.
Tajikistan’s national border’s perimeter is reportedly more than 4,500 kilometers.
