DUSHANBE, April 9, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA)’s office for the northern Sughd province have reportedly seized a large consignment of narcotics.
The DCA press center reports an operation carried out by the drug control officers in the Mastchoh district on April 8 led to the arrest of resident of the Istaravshan district who has previous conviction for drug pushing. “Five packages of narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish weighing four kilograms were found in his car,” the source said.
As a result of additional measures, the accomplice to that crime – 42-year-old resident of the Mastchoh district – was arrested.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the alleged drug pushers under the provisions of Article 200 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – drug trafficking; an investigation is under way.
