Top commanders of the Russian 201st military base carried out reconnoitering of dangerous areas in Anzob and Shahristan mountain passes in collaboration with top Tajik law enforcement officials.
As reported by press service of the Central Military District, in late May this year the reinforced motorized infantry company of the 201st military base will carry out a more than 400km march to the region where Peace Mission 2012 anti-terrorist war games of SCO member states are planned to be held. The company is also expected to cross both Anzob and Shahristan mountain passes.
“Based on the results of recent reconnaissance drivers and mechanics of military machines will be instructed on how to overcome dangerous areas while crossing these mountain passes,” the release said.
As reported by the CMD’s press service, Peace Mission 2012 joint anti-terrorist military exercises of SCO member states will be held in Sughd province on Choruh-Dayron training ground on June 8-14 this year.
Russia will be represented by the reinforced motorized infantry company of the 201st military base, which is part of the collective rapid response forces of Central Asia and assault aircraft from Kant air base.
