DUSHANBE, December 14, 2012, Asia-Plus -- A meeting of the International Working Group (IWG) took place at the headquarters of the Drug Control Agency (DCA) under the President of Tajikistan in Dushanbe on December 12 in the framework of implementation of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) project, Tajikistan Drug Control Agency (DCA) Phase 2.
According to the DCA press center, the meeting participants included Tajik drug control chief, senior officers from Tajik counternarcotics agency, program/project coordinators from the UNODC office and senior representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe.
The meeting reportedly discussed the process of implementation of measures connected with payment of grants to the counternarcotics agency for the period from July to December this year and worked out the plan of financing for the UNODC project for the period from January to June 2013.
IWG reportedly welcomed Tajik Government’s decision to increase financing for the counter narcotics agency.
The International Working Group (IWG) comprising all relevant stakeholders regularly decides on releasing of DCA grants agreeing on its systematic decrease in accordance with the financial capabilities of the Tajik government.
