DUSHANBE, December 26, 2012, Asia-Plus  -- A large amount of heroin has been sized in Dushanbe.

The Interior Ministry’s official website reports that a special operation carried out in Dushanbe on December 23 led the seizure of some five kilograms of heroin.  

Several packages of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 4.715 kilograms were found hidden in Mercedes belonging to Kulob resident Alisher Akbarov.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the alleged drug and an investigation is under way, the source said.
