DUSHANBE, April 15, 2013, Asia-Plus – Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on April 15 received visiting Kazakh Defense Minister Adilbek Jaksybekov.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, the sides discussed issues related to regional security, the current situation in Afghanistan as well as military and military-technical cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.
Rahmon and Jaksybekov also exchanged views on training of personnel for the Tajik national army at military schools in Kazakhstan.
Adilbek Jaksybekov heading a Kazakh military delegation arrived in Tajikistan on April 15.
Adilbek Jaksybekov (born on July 26, 1954) is Kazakhstan''s Minister of Defense. He was the head of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s administration. He served as the Mayor of Astana in 2002, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank in 2003, and the Minister of Industry and Trade in 2004. While Information Minister, Jaksybekov participated in a meeting held in Kiev, Ukraine in 2004 in which a Common Economic Area was proposed for Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia.
