DUSHANBE, July 11, 2013, Asia-Plus – Officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA)’s office for Sughd province have detected 10,000 bushes of wild growing hemp on an area of 0.3 hectare in the Farm named after Urunkhojayev, Bobojonghafurov district, the DCA press center reported on July 11.
The bushes that have been detected within the framework of the ongoing anti-drug operation, dubbed Kuknor 2013 (Poppy 2013), have been destroyed in the presence of witnesses.
The Kuknor -2013 Operation was launched on May 20 and it will run through November.
This annual anti-drug operation, involving representatives of law enforcement agencies, local authorities, ministries of agriculture and health, as well as the committee for TV and radio-broadcasting, is dedicated to detect and destroy drug crops across the country.
