DUSHANBE, September 11, 2013, Asia-Plus – A member of the Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society, and a Serena employee, Qyrghyzbek Qanounov, was delivered to the State Committee for National Security, suspected of an attempt to stage a coup d’état.
Mr. Qanounov himself reports that in the evening of 7 September, he was having dinner in a café in the Dushanbe, from where he was taken by National Security Committee officers.
Mr. Qanounov says: “We didn’t know why. We were told that supposedly we are suspected of an attempt to stage a coup d’état (?????). Their relation was polite, although in the beginning one of them allowed himself to assault. They took explanatory notes from us, asked what we were talking about. Then they let us go…”
