DUSHANBE, October 4, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Afghan national has been detained with more than 10 kilograms of narcotics in the Tajik southern province of Khatlon.
The Interior Ministry’s official website reported on October 3 that Afghan national Ghulamyar waladi Qasim has been detained in the Tajik border district of Panj on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking. 10.26 kilograms of cannabis were confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings against the alleged drug peddler have been instituted under the provisions of Article 200 (4) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – drug trafficking; an investigation is under way.
