DUSHANBE, December 3, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Resident of Khatlon’s Shouroobod district bordering Afghanistan has been detained with a large amount of narcotics.

According to the Interior Ministry’s website, the 53-yer-old resident of the Shouroobod district, Abdulmajid Bukhoriyev, was detained on December 2 on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.  43.78 kilograms of cannabis were confiscated from him.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the alleged drug trafficker and an investigation is under way.
