DUSHANBE, December 26, 2013, Asia-Plus – Officers from the Customs Service’s office in the southern Khatlon province have reportedly seized a large amount of narcotics.
According to the Customs Service press center, two Tajik nationals – Fazliddin Saidov, 25, and Mohammad Mahmadiyev, 19 – were detained while illegally crossing the Afghan-Tajik border.
More than 26 kilograms of narcotics were confiscated from them. The seized narcotics tested positive to hashish weighing 10.7377 kilograms and raw opium weighing 15.4624 kilograms, the source said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug peddlers and an investigation is under way.
