DUSHANBE, February 3, 2014, Asia-Plus – Resident of Khatlon’s Vose district, Mahmad Rahimov, 50, has been arrested by officers from the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) in Dushanbe on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking, according to the SCNS public relations center.
A large amount of hashish was found hidden in his VAZ-2111.
Rahimov’s partner in crime Dodojon Jumayev from Sughd’s Bobojonghafurov district has also been arrested.
“The preliminary investigation has established that they purchased narcotics from Afghan national and hid them in the house Jourabek Nazarov in Khatlon’s Hamadoni district,” the source said, noting that 18.5 kilograms of narcotics were confiscated from the detained drug peddlers.
A totaled reportedly included 9.5 kilgorams of hashish and 9 kilograms of raw opium.
