DUSHANBE, March 3, 2014, Asia-Plus – Three separate operations by Tajik police officers reportedly led to the seizure of more than 40 kilograms of narcotics last weekends; one Afghan national and three Tajik citizens were detained for drug trafficking.
The Interior Ministry’s website reports that Afghan national was detained on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking in the Dashti Jum jamoat, Shouroobod district tin Khatlon province. 35 kilograms of raw opium and 4.5 kilograms of cannabis were confiscated from him.
Besides, police officers found 1.14 kilograms of hashish hidden in a car belonging to the Roudaki district resident, Shahrom Sherali. The preliminary investigation has reportedly established that the fond hashish belong to the Hisor district resident, Shuhrat Karimov.
An operation carried out by police officers in the northern city of Khujand led to the arrest of a local resident on suspicion of having been involved in drug peddling. 303 grams of hashish were confiscated from him.
