DUSHANBE, March 17, 2014, Asia-Plus -- A multi-stage operation by officers from the Drug Control Agency under the President of Tajikistan (DCA) ended last weekend with the seizure of 96 kilograms of hashish in the Bobojonghafourov district of Sughd province, according to the DCA press center.
Two local residents were arrested on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking; criminal proceedings have been instituted against them and an investigation is under way.
Besides, officers from the DCA’s office in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) in cooperation with representatives of other law enforcement agencies seized 18,829 kilograms of hashish last weekend, the source said.
