DUSHANBE, March 19, 2014, Asia-Plus – Kyrgyz media sources report that Kyrgyz border guards have seized a large consignment of cigarettes smuggled into Kyrgyzstan out of Tajikistan.
A truck carrying more than 5,000 boxes of Marlboro cigarettes was reportedly stopped in the area patrolled by the Leilek border unit on March 18.
A total cost of this consignment of the smuggled cigarettes is more than 4 million som, kabar.kg reported referring to Kyrgyz border service’s press center.
Two residents of Kyrgyzstan’s Batken region were arrested and an investigation is under way.
