DUSHANBE, June 6, 2014, Asia-Plus – More than 16 kilograms of narcotics have been seized in two separate police operations carried out in the Hamadoni district, Khatlon province.
According to the Interior Ministry’s website, the 32-year-old resident of Hamadoni, Mirali Davlatov, was detained on June 4 on suspicion of having been involved in drug peddling. 4.005 kilograms of raw opium were confiscated from him.
On the same day, police officers reportedly found 12.205 kilograms of hashish hidden in Opel-Astra belonging to Hamadoni resident Ismoilkhon Ibronov.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against alleged drug peddlers and an investigation is under way.
