KHUJAND, July 31, 2014, Asia-Plus -- A joint military exercise for servicemen of military unit 07746 deployed in northern Tajikistan and local reserve officers was conducted near Khujand, the capital of Sughd province on July 30.
“Khujand Mayor Rajabboy Ahmadzoda and the Sughd regional military registration and enlistment office chief Azam Qosimov observed the exercise that was held at the training ground in the Choruk-Daron area,” a spokesman for the Khujand mayor’s office told Asia-Plus in an interview.
The purpose of the exercise that reportedly involved 385 reservists was to retrain reservists in order to improve their combat skills.
It is to be noted that military exercises involving reservists have been carried out in the province for the fits time in recent years. The Sughd regional military registration and enlistment office plans to make such exercises traditional.
