During seven months in 2014, law-enforcement authorities have opened cases against four Kulab region natives for participating in the Syrian conflict.
Colonel Abdulvahab Iskandarov, Head of the Khatlan Police Department for Kulab districts, reported to journalists that work in this regard is not being weakened even for a day, since there are no guarantees that there are only a certain number of Kulabis fighting in Syria.
According to him, the constant operational work is not only limited to the “Syrians”. “In the six months of this year, 5 persons were detained, and criminal cases are opened against them for membership in extremist groups,” said the colonel, adding that 3 more citizens are arrested for adhering to the illegal Salafi religious group.
