The main directorate of the border troops of Tajikistan’s National Security Committee handed over to Kyrgyz border troops two of the neighboring state citizens and two horses in the Jirgatal area of the border, who were detained on August 9 during a shoot-out on the Tajik territory. A source in the border troops informed Asia-Plus about it.
Kyrgyz citizens, Doolatbay Gaimov, born in 1984, and Bekmyrza Matyrzaev, born in 1986, were detained on August 9 by Tajik border guards during a shoot-out with Tajik border guards. To date they were being held in the National Security office of Jirgatal district. One of their accomplices was killed during the shoot-out by Tajik border guards.
A criminal case has been opened by Jirgatal district Prosecutor’s Office on the shoot-out fact, and the Tajik side is investigating the August 9 incident on the Tajik territory, which will lead to a joint bilateral investigation.
