DUSHANBE, October 4, 2014, Asia-Plus -- On an initiative of the Kulob mayor’s office, parents of soldiers from Kulob have visited their sons serving in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
“Representative of the Kulob mayor’s office have accompanied the parents on their trip to Gorno Badakhshan,” Faridoun Mahmadaliyev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense (MoD), told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, the purpose of the visit was for the parents to get acquainted with living and service conditions of their sons. They have also met with their sons’ commanders, Mahmadaliyev said.
A number of subunits of the Ministry of Defense and border units are now deployed in Gorno Badakhshan.
