DUSHANBE, October 31, 2014, Asia-Plus --Police officers have reportedly detected two cases of illegal possession of firearms.
The Interior Ministry’s official website reports that resident of Dushanbe Hazratqul Fayziyev, 35, was detained in the Roudaki district on October 30 and the Makarov pistol was confiscated from him.
On the same day, resident of Dushanbe Amonullo Sharipov, 39, who is temporarily living in Khujand, found the Makarov pistol hidden in the sack of rice in the rented apartment lodgings and handed it over to the police.
Ismoiljon Saidov, 35, was arrested on suspicion of illegally possessing that pistol. The preliminary investigation has reportedly established that he purchased that pistol from a certain Juma in the city of Norak in 2008.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted over both cases and an investigation is under way.
