DUSHANBE, November 26, 2014, Asia-Plus – A session of an expert group to finalize and agree a draft resolution of the CIS Council of Heads of Government on formation of a group of border and other CIS agencies intended for settlement of crisis situations on the CIS outer border is being held in Minsk, Belarus today.
According to the CIS Executive Committee, the resolution will pertain to the countries, which have signed the protocol endorsing the regulations on organization of interaction between border and other CIS agencies on providing assistance in case of crisis situations on the CIS outer border. These countries are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
It is supposed that competent agencies of the countries jointly with the CIS Council of Border Troops Commanders will specify interaction plans every year, taking into consideration possible development son the outer border, ad agree the quantitative composition of the national formations of the border services and other agencies, which are set to be included in the group tasked with settling crisis situations.
Besides, a joint command and staff drill for the border services and other agencies of the CIS nations will be conducted at least once every three years. The Coordinating Service of the CIS Council of Border Troops Commanders will inform the states of the situation on the outer border and probable threats to border security.
