DUSHANBE, November 28, 2014, Asia-Plus – An operation carried out by officers from the Interior Ministry’s office in the Darvoz district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) on November 27 led to the arrest of local resident Khairddin Shamsiddinov, 45, on suspicion of drug trafficking.
According to the Interior Ministry’s website, a package of narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish weighing 8.70 kilograms was confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings have been institute against Shamsiddinov under the provisions of Article 200 (4) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – drug trafficking; an investigation is under way.
