DUSHANBE, May 29, 2015, Asia-Plus -- Missing OMON (special police unit) commander Gulmurod Halimov is not in Syria or in Iraq; most likely, he was recruited by special services of one of neighboring countries, security service veteran Davlatkhouja Nazirov, who is an expert on modern terrorism, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According him, the special services that recruited Halimov have created a cover story on his joining Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militant organization.
Nazirov did not specify what country could recruit Gulmurod Halimov. He just noted that “it is the country unfriendly to Tajikistan.”
“ It is wonder that the interior minister who organized a meeting with former militant and who often meets with youth calling on them not to come under influence of ISIL has failed to control a top police commander, and the Interior Ministry internal security department is not worth a damn,” Nazirov noted.
