QURGHON TEPPA, June 22, 2015, Asia-Plus -- Resident of the city of Norak has asked Khatlon governor for help to return his son from Iraq.
On Saturday June 20, Khatlon Governor Davlatsho Gulahmadzoda visited Norak to receive local residents.
One of residents of Norak said that his son Mirali Miraliyev three years ago left for Russia seeking better employment opportunities. According to him, he talked to his son by phone for the last time in late 2014. “Mirali said he will receive his wage one of these days and will return home, said the Norak resident. “Later we knew that he was recruited and taken to Iraq.”
Davlatsho Gulahmadzoda promised to convey information about the young man to the law enforcement authorities.
Meanwhile, the head of the Norak department for youth, sports and tourism affairs Sirojiddin Mahmoudov says ex-member of the Islamic Revival Party (IRP) Anoushervon Azimov has been engaged in recruiting local young men into the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL).
Five residents of Norak have reportedly joined ISIL militants in Syria and Iraq; one of them, Saidjaffar Mirzoshoyev is currently being held a detention center in Dushanbe.
