DUSHANBE, June 30, 2015, Asia-Plus – On Tuesday June 30, Tajik Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda held a meeting to discuss ways of stopping people from joining extremist groups as well as illegal political parties and movements, according to the Interior Ministry’s website.
The meeting participants reportedly also discussed crime prevention issues.
Speaking at the meeting, the interior minister ordered to take adequate measures to expand cooperation between police and the population for the purpose of preventing transnational crime, extremism and drug trafficking.
According to the Tajik law enforcement authorities, more than 300 Tajik nationals have joined various extremist groups operating in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
