DUSHANBE, July 8, 2015, Asia-Plus -- Two Afghan drug traffickers were killed and more than 270 kilograms of hashish were seized by Tajik border guards in Khatlon in the night of July 6.
According to Muhammad Ulughkhojayev, a spokesman for the Main Border Guard Directorate of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), Tajik border guards on routine patrol spotted a group of armed trespassers numbering 10-13 people who were illegally crossing border river in the area patrolled by the Hamadoni border unit late Sunday.
As a result of exchange of gunfire, two trespassers were killed while others were forced to return the contiguous territory, the spokesman said, noting that were no casualties among Tajik border guards.
More than 270 kilograms of hashish were reportedly found on the spot.
