DUSHANBE, November 9, 2015, Asia-Plus -- United States Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus completed a scheduled visit to Tajikistan on November 7, according to the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe.
During his limited time in Dushanbe, Mabus, the leader of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, met with U.S. Embassy officials to discuss the United States'' ongoing commitment to supporting security and stability in Central Asia.
Mabus also met with members of the Embassy''s Marine Security Guard Detachment and attended the detachment''s Marine Corps ball, an annual commemoration of the birth of the United States Marine Corps.
Mabus'' stop in Tajikistan is reportedly part of a multinational trip to U.S. Southern, Africa, Central and European command areas of responsibility to meet with Sailors, Marines, and military and government leaders.
