DUSHANBE, January 8, 2016, Asia-Plus – Tajik Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Ramazon Rahimzoda, yesterday met with Mr. Ahmet Asim Arar, Ambassador of Turkey to Tajikistan.
According to the Tajik Interior Ministry’s website, the two sides discussed issues related to cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey in combating transnational crime, terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking.
Cooperation is reportedly being carried out in the framework of an agreement on legal aid in civil, trade, and criminal cases signed on May 6, 1996.
Tajikistan and Turkey are also cooperating in combating transnational crime on the basis of an agreement on cooperation in combating international terrorism and drug trafficking that was signed on November 11, 2011.
