DUSHANBE, January 25, 2016, Asia-Plus – In a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, Tajik Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda noted on January 25 that the rapidly changing situation in the world as a whole and in the region in particular as well surge in terrorism and extremism in a number of countries force practically all countries around the world, including Tajikistan, to take adequate measures to maintain peace and stability in their territories.
According to him, a large scale anti-terror drill was conducted in Dushanbe and nearby districts subordinate to the center last weekend.
“Similar anti-terror exercises will be conducted in other regions of the country as well and they should not be the cause for concern of the population,” the minister said.
Rahimzoda also denied rumors that the power-wielding structures were allegedly suppressing a prison riot in Dushanbe last weekend as “absolutely baseless.”
