DUSHANBE, April 25, 2016, Asia-Plus – Russian news website Free News reports that Syrian government forces killed more than 75 militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), including a Tajik-born ISIS field commander, on April 21.
According to Free News , subunits of the 104th airborne brigade, of the Syrian Republican Guards with support of the National Defense Force (a nation-wide paramilitary organization that supports the Syrian government) freed the Al-Sinaa block of the administrative center of Deir Al-Zor province on April 21.
75 ISIS militants, including the Tajik-born field commander, were killed in the special operation, Free News said.
According to Tajik authorities’ data, up to 1,000 nationals of Tajikistan have joined ISIS militants in Syria and Iraq.
