DUSHANBE, June 2, 2016, Asia-Plus – A regional meeting of experts from the counter narcotics agencies of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan began in Dushanbe yesterday.
According to the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) press service, the meeting participants also include international coordinator of the project XAC/K22 on “Countering the Trafficking of Afghan Opiates via the Northern Route by Enhancing the Capacity of Key Border Crossings Points (BCPs) and Through the Establishment of Border Liaison Offices (BLOs)” and assistant managers.
The meeting participants are reportedly discussing the issue of use of the IBM i2 software for collection and analysis of data for the Border Cooperation Office in Tajikistan and the single information system of the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan.
Members of Border Cooperation Offices in Tajikistan include representatives of the DCA, the Interior Ministry, the Main Border Guard Directorate at the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), and the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan.
Today, the meeting participants will visit the Border Cooperation Office at the Border Crossing Point “Dousti” on the Tajik-Uzbek border.
