Tajik citizen was arrested with a large batch of heroin at the customs border of Azerbaijan, stated the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
The report said that on Saturday, 13 August, at a checkpoint on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border while the X-ray examination of the truck, which came from Iran and that was driven by Tajik citizen Ismayilov Muhameddinom (State registration number GP6925/N6775), was detected an unknown substance similar to a narcotic in car’s hiding place.
After that, the employees of Astara Customs Office of the State Customs Committee of the RA together with the Control and Inspection Center checked the truck and found 141 kilograms 156 grams of heroin there.
During the primary indications of the driver - a citizen of Tajikistan - indicated that he intended to go to Georgia via Azerbaijan.
According to the facts of this criminal case the investigation continues.
