Three persons were killed and four others injured on September 14 as a car was swept by a rockfall over a 250-meter precipice in Khatlon’s Shohin district.
According to the Interior Ministry’s website, the accident took place near the village of Safedobi. A rockfall that occurred yesterday morning at about 6:00 am swept Hyundai Galloper, driven by the 31-year-old resident of the Ishkashim district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), over the 250-meter precipice.
Three passengers – 30-year-old man from Ishkashim, 18-year-old woman from Ishkashim and 57-year-old man from the Yovon district (Khatlon) – were killed, while the driver and three other passengers sustained various injuries and were hospitalized in the Shohin central district hospital.
Investigation into the cause of the accident is under way.
