Two nationals of the Republic of Liberia have been detained in Dushanbe for a large-scale fraud, according to the Interior Ministry’s website.
A 33-year-old resident of Dushanbe has applied to police noting that two Liberian nationals fraudulently took 100,000 U.S. dollars and 10,000 Euros from him on September 19.
The alleged fraudsters have been detained and criminal proceedings have been instituted against them; an investigation is under way.
According to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, 2,662 fraud-related crimes have been reported in Tajikistan over the first eight months of this year.
