DUSHANBE, May 6, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The authorities reportedly want to evict the National Association of Independent Media of Tajikistan (Nansmit) from rental premises.
The Nansmit head Nouriddin Qarshiboyev told Asia-Plus that the director of the Agency for Construction and Architecture Abduvali Komilov came to their office on May 3 and said that Nansmit must leave the rental premises.
“He noted that in connection with production necessity they allegedly need additional work area, while there many empty offices in the building,” the media watchdog head said, noting that decision on evicting Nansmit from rental premises is illegal.
Meanwhile, Komilov says the Agency is forced to take such measures, “because a new state unitary enterprise has been established and the State Committee on Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest) has decided to place it on the attic floor of the building of open joint-stock company (OJSC) Shahrofar.”
Qarshiboyev notes that according to reliable sources in the government, the issue of evicting several organizations, including Arkhikom, Nansmit, P-Trank and some others, from rental premises on the attic floor has arisen after establishment of the state unitary enterprise, Loihakash (planning organization), which is headed by Komilov’s predecessor Matoubkhon Khalifayev. “Government’s decree on the establishment of this organization obligates Mr. Komilov to resolve organizing and legal issues regarding placement of the Loihakash enterprise,” Qarshiboyev, “Mr. Komilov probably decided to resolve this issue illegally, ignoring rights and interests of other organizations.”
According to him, an agreement between Nansmit and GosKomInvest on renting premises on the attic floor of the Shahrofar building has been concluded for the period until 2013.
