DUSHANBE, July 27, 2011, Asia-Plus -- More than 200 tons of food products, including dried dates, provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a form of humanitarian aid have arrived in Dushanbe.
According to the Saudi Embassy in Dushanbe, this consignment of humanitarian aid has been sent to Tajikistan by instruction of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan.
Saudi Ambassador to Tajikistan Dr. Bandar bin Mohammad Jamil noted during the donation-handover ceremony at Dushanbe International Airport that the aid will be distributed among the vulnerable people before the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
This year, the holy Muslim month of Ramadan begins on August 1.
