KULOB, July 28, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Honey Festival Day has been held in the city of Kulob today.
Deputy Kulob Mayor, Fayzali Qurbonov, says they attach significance to that event and see it as a component in preserving apiculture in the area. According to him, bee keepers in Kulob district now have 2020 bee-families, which is 500 bee-families more than last year.
“Drought has hampered this year , but I am sure that this year, we will produce honey 10 tons more than last year,” the deputy mayor said.
Regional Honey Festival Day will be held in Qurghon Teppa, the capital of Khatlon province on July 30.
