DUSHANBE, October 13, 2011, Asia-Plus -- UNSECO Almaty Cluster Office in cooperation with Tajikistan’s National Commission for UNESCO conducted a two-day workshop entitled “Information Structures for Sustainable Development and Good Governance” in Dushanbe on October 11-12.
According to Tajikistan’s National Commission for UNESCO, the workshop participants included 15 education instructors and information technology (IT) specialists. “They gathered in Dushanbe to share their experience and opportunities under the conditions of increasing volumes of digital content,” the source said.
Organizers of the event expect the workshop to help improve effectiveness of the education capacity building through raising potential and creating conditions for supporting information structures for the purpose of ensuring sustainable development and spreading knowledge and information, the source noted.
The partner organization, Kazakhstan’s National Center for Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), has assisted with sharing experience in using FOSS solutions in education with focus on content production and long-term user maintenance.
