KULOB, October 27 2011, Asia-Plus -- Kulob officials who have failed to implement government’s order on organizing special warehouses for keeping waste energy-saving light bulbs collected from enterprises, organizations and the population have been fined a total of 1,050 somoni, Azam Tuichiyev, senior inspector with the Kulob agency for environmental protection, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
“Among them are heads of a number of jamoats in Danghara, Hamadoni, Baljuvon and Muminobod districts as well as principal of school # 15 in the city of Kulob,” Tuichiyev noted.
According to him, they have collected some 7,000 waste energy-saving light bulbs to date; the waste energy-saving light bulbs have been stockpiled at general warehouses at the local utility enterprises. “When a large quantity of the waste energy-saving light bulbs is collected they will be sent to a special enterprise that is being established in Dushanbe,” Tuichiyev added.
